Mediterranean Cruises - Norwegian Cruise Line Cruises to the Mediterranean
Palaces and Paella
From Palma to Tunisia, Rome to Santa Margherita and St Raphael to Barcelona, you’ve found the Mediterranean cruise with a difference! It begins with a flight to Palma - you'll soon be able to barter in the souks of Tunis and mix it with the jet set in St Raphael. In between times you'll get to know two of the most beautiful cities in the world: Barcelona and Rome.
Palma – Majorca is a sunny and seductive mix of old-world charm and cosmopolitan chic. Take in the ancient La Seu Gothic cathedral from the harbour, the Castell de Belver overlooking the bay and the Moorish Almundaina Palace and museum. Splash about in the Magalluf water park, hit the designer shops and bars, play a round at one of the amazing golf courses.
In Tunisia you’ll experience the exotic sights and sounds of Tunis, where Mediterranean and North African cultures mix. Take in the Bardo Museum or Carthage with amazing ancient Roman remains, the Mediaeval Medina and Scenic Sidi Bou Said. Hit the beach at a local resort, ride a camel and barter for bargains in the souk bazaars.
To Rome - the eternal city, home to the Vatican and seat of the ancient empire, Rome is an incomparably beautiful and romantic city. Take in the Coliseum, where real gladiators (and Russell Crowe) fought for their lives in front of blood-thirsty crowds, the Pantheon, the best-preserved building in Rome with its spectacular holed dome and the Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo's fabulous frescoes adorning the ceiling. Eat in a rooftop restaurant overlooking the Spanish steps; toss a coin in the Trevi fountain so you'll come back again and be sure to give the credit card a hammering in Gucci.
On to Santa Margherita - set on a golden stretch of coastline between the sea and the cypress-clad hills, Santa Margherita is the quintessential Italian seaside town. Take in Portofino, the Italian hideout of the rich and famous; visit the historic port of Genoa and the olive groves and vineyards of Santa Margherita. Learn to cook at a gourmet restaurant in Recco; take a trip to Sestri Levanti for a day on the beach at Silence Bay and Cruise along the coast of the Ligurian Gulf to the fishing village of Camogli.
In St Raphael mingle with models and millionaires in beautiful St Raphael. Take in glamorous Cannes or stylish St Tropez, Notre-Dame-de-la-Victoire church built in marshmallow-coloured stone or follow the celebrities’ footsteps on a film festival tour. Relax in the bars and on the beach, or get something chic in a boutique!
Barcelona - built on a love for life, food, art and football, Barcelona is a city of passion. Marvel at the incredible architecture, eat real tapas and stay out late in the bars. Take in La Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's unfinished cathedral, the Picasso museum, the Nou Camp football stadium. Take the walking tour of the Gothic quarter, shop on the famous Las Ramblas Boulevard, and taste the Mediterranean in the Boqueria fresh produce market
