Ocean Village Cruises

If you have a sense of adventure, love to explore new destinations, enjoy sports and activities and relaxing in an easy-going atmosphere, Ocean Village is for you.

Each of their routes takes in six stunning locations in the course of a week. From quiet holiday islands to bustling, pulsating cities, their itineraries reveal the full splendour of the Mediterranean or beauty of the Caribbean.

Ocean Village offers one or two week holidays at sea sailing from Barbados between November 2003 and April 2004 and from Palma in Majorca from April 2004.

• spacious cabins
• eight bars
• four places to eat

Nothing's compulsory aboard Ocean Village. If you don't fancy spending all day in town; no problem. There's more than enough to keep you occupied on and around the ship.

Want a quiet day? Then work on your tan, shop, email, swim or indulge in some serious pampering.

Prefer something a bit more strenuous? Work out in the gym, go jogging or head off on one of the ship's mountain bike trips.

With Ocean Village you pick and choose to get the balance of your holiday just right.

Cabins:

Truly relaxing holiday demands a comfortable room. Somewhere you can really stretch out in, especially if you had a late night and want a lie in.

Theirs are the largest, best-appointed cabins in their class. Even the standard rooms are a sizeable 188 sq. feet and 66 cabins feature a private balcony. Every room has as standard:

• en suite facilities
• its own dressing area
• TV
• fridge
• tea and coffee making facilities
• hair dryer
• safe

The cabins are graded from AA to NN, with AA the largest, most luxurious and most conveniently located for the ship s facilities. Which cabin you choose depends on the kind of holiday you want. If you want to put your feet up and admire the view from you own private, vantage point, go for an outside cabin - perhaps even one with a balcony. If you plan to spend all day pounding the streets and seeing the sights, only returning to sleep or change, then an inside cabin will do nicely.

Dining:

Eating onboard is about choosing your own blend of flavours and experiences. There are no set meal times, dress codes or designated tables. You choose when and what to eat from our rich menu of options. From oriental or Italian to vegetarian, seafood or a full English breakfast, everyone will find something to their taste.

• The main Waterfront Restaurant (buffet dining).
• The Plantation Restaurant (24-hour buffet dining).
• La Luna deck café (extra charge at night, waiter service).
• The Bistro (evenings only, waiter service, extra charge applies).

At the two main restaurants, Waterfront and Plantation, you'll find a great range of high quality buffet options available around the clock. The ship also boasts La Luna and The Bistro. By day, La Luna is an open-air deck café, while at night it offers poolside dining by starlight.

The Bistro is our gourmet dining experience. Endorsed by celebrity TV chef James Martin, who travels periodically onboard, it serves up a superb fusion menu of modern British and Mediterranean flavours.

Evenings:

A few drinks after dinner? Or are you planning to stay out all night?

How you occupy yourself in the evening may depend on what you've done with your day. If you pounded the streets, you might want a quiet drink and the chance to watch the Mediterranean sun go down. But if you've been lying on the beach, you're probably just gearing up for the night ahead.

With eight different bars, a club and the casino, the night's alive with possibilities...

• Head for the deck for a sunset barbeque.
• Visit the Marquee bar, featuring contemporary acrobatic shows, cabaret, live bands and stand-up comedy.
• Enjoy a recent release at the Movie Drome cinema.
• Chance your luck at the casino.
• Boogie down to the Bayside Nightclub.
• Relax with friends at one of the bars on board.

(Their contemporary circus performers will be passing on some of their secrets on board. Having seen their acrobatic feats during the evening, here's your chance to join a workshop to learn juggling, dive rolls or balancing acts the next day!)

BARS

• The Connexions Bar - a natural focal point in the centre of the ship.
• The Blue Bar - a contemporary-style bar looking out over the three-deck atrium one side and with ocean views the other.
• The Oval - the ship's pub.
• Charlie's Bar and Internet café - cappuccinos, espressos and e-mail.
• The Splash swim-up bar - beers and cocktails without leaving the water.
• The Sunweaver deck bar - cool off inside or relax in the sun.
• The Bayside Bar and nightclub, with occasional live TV sports coverage.
• The Marquee cabaret bar - one of the largest bars afloat.

Kids:

Kids are in for a great time with Ocean Village, especially in peak season. On board, you’ll find special areas of the ship dedicated to children. Our specially trained staff lay on a host of activities that’ll keep them amused and give you a break!

As it’s 24-hour dining, your children, just like you, can eat wherever it suits them. We can provide a selection of baby foods and our children’s tea should prove popular.

At the start of your holiday you’ll be invited to an informal get-together where our Club team will tell you about the facilities, the events planned and the few restrictions on board.

• Kids of all ages will love BASE CAMP - at the aft of A deck, leading to a netted deck area and paddling pool, away from the main adult pools on Leisure Deck.
• For children aged 2-6 years, the ship has a playroom open from 9am to 10pm with an extensive programme of play, sport and entertainment. As much as we’d like to, we regret that we are unable to take babies under 2 off their parent’s hands during the day as we can with older children, though they are welcome at the Base Camp children’s centre if a parent stays with them.
• We have a night nursery facility (open 6pm-2am) in the children’s centre, so that parents can enjoy their evening on board in the knowledge that their children are being well looked after – a small charge may apply. We can also set up in-cabin baby listening facilities on request.
• For tweens (7-12 years) and teenagers (13+) we have separate areas on board where there’s loads of cool stuff going on with computer games, karaoke and deck sports. Teenagers will also love The Hideout on H deck, where they can enjoy music and discos!

They are unable to take children under the age of 6 months on board or children under 18 travelling without the company of an adult.
